ABSTRACT
Genetically engineered microbes are used to treat various diseases and also therapeutic drug development. The microbes can be listed depending up on the phylum and which particular disease can be treated by the particular genetically modified bacteria and it helps to clarify the engineered microbes to treat various human diseases. The techniques like CRISPR, gene knockout vaccine strain development, metabolic pathway engineering these are the major techniques used by the scientists has successfully modified microbial strains to enhance the immune responses and helps to cure the conditions like respiratory infections, cancer and autoimmune diseases. Using synthetic biology and genetic engineering microbes act as therapeutic agents in drug development and modern medicines. Genetically Engineered microbes have shown good potential to treat disease at various stages. The corresponding diseases along with their editing tools is shown in Fig.1. These modified bacteria are used for therapeutic applications and drug development globally. The engineered microbes help to enhance the healthy lives and promote the well-being of the global population. The integration of synthetic biology tools to optimize and modulate host immune response and disrupt pathogenic processes. The review aims to indicate the advancements of genetically engineered microbes to treat various human diseases with the help engineering techniques. The genetically engineered microbes as effective targeted agents in modern day disease treatment strategies.
